Since growing up as a small child in Australia, I had always experienced a strong and passionate connection with Nature and the world of Spirit. As I grew older, I found this quite overwhelming and turned away from Spirit in order to cope only to find myself descending into a dark night of the soul. In 1992, I was led on a guided visualization, but rather than being led, I spontaneously entered an altered state of consciousness where I met spirits and experienced spiritual healing. This began my ascent and the restoration of my faith and soul. I found that I could enter into these states at will, and receive guidance and information that allowed me to move forward with life. Later I came to understand that in fact I was shamanic journeying, while being called by Spirit and experiencing initiatory rites classic to the shamanic path. I came to understand that the deep connection with Spirit I had previously perceived as a burden was indeed a gift. Since then, I have been fortunate to strengthen these gifts through a combination of practice and extensive training with gifted and loving teachers and elders from both indigenous and core shamanic traditions, as well as mainstream psychology. Some of these include: Laureen Rama, Betsy Bergstrom, Christine Wallace, Toltec Nagual, dona Bernadette Vigil, and Drs Lynne Zettl and Ed Josephs. My training in Core Shamanism is from the Foundation of Shamanic Studies.

Along with my training in shamanism and psychology, I have also received practical and theoretical counselling training through Vancouver Community College and The Satir Institute of the Pacific. My interest in healing trauma also led me to training in Self-Regulation Therapy® with the Canadian Foundation for Trauma Research and Education. I have found that synthesizing this somatic body-centered therapy with shamanic healing methods brings about true transmutation of energies on all levels of body and soul.

After working for over a decade in social services as a counsellor treating issues related to employability, substance abuse and trauma, my family and I opened HeartQuest Holistic Wellness Centre on Commercial Drive, in Vancouver. Here I went into private practise helping clients and teaching a variety of courses on shamanism, ranging from introductory to 3-year apprenticeships.  Over the last two years I have experienced a profound and ongoing ancestral transmission from which has come the reanimation of the White Bone Tradition. This is a shamanic tradition based in Core Shamanic techniques and interwoven with my Celtic ancestral lineages and Australian Dreamtime medicine. The program aims to bring apprentices into their intuitive power as harmonizing agents and spiritual changemakers, and as answer to the imbalance caused by the loss of the Divine Feminine. During this process, I have been supported by my friend and elder of the Wolven Tradition, Dr John Luke Edwards, and in 2009, I was ordained as a Reverend Shaman into this lineage and the Sacred Circle of the Great Mystery.

In addition to balancing life as a mum, Shaman, counsellor, and teacher, I am member of the Society of Shamanic Practitioners, founder of the White Bone Shamanic Sisterhood, avid reader, and ongoing student of life.
